In 1979, with the efficient collaboration of Charles Combanaire and judged by the doctor Régis Bazin, Michel Comte organized in Montluçon a gathering of 23 braques du Bourbonnais born in the south east (result). Thinking that he had succeeded the new start of this breed, he hoped his friend Marcel Contier and other peoples from Bourbonnais province would recreate the club.
It was Mrs. Ceriana who, in 1980, at a dog show in Paris, found Mrs. Dumont-Tostain, the former assistant secretary of the Club du Braque du Bourbonnais; she led us to the last president, Mr. Raimond. Marcel Contier spoke to Michel Comte about Mrs. Perrony, to whom he had given the bitch Ornella, from one of Mr. Tahon's litters; she soon became a passionate breeder under the affix "Happiness" and put all her boundless energy into promoting her kennel.
For the club, the year 1980 was disappointing: Marcel Contier remained inactive, so the 1979 gathering in Montluçon could no longer be considered a constitutive meeting.
My father organized a field trial on quail at the Domaine de Malicorne in Tortezais, owned by Mr. Massip (a friend of Charles Combanaire).
This field trial, which took place on 6 July 1980, gave us the opportunity to meet a new enthusiast, Jean-Paul Buot, a Brittany breeder who had just bought a bitch from Mr. Mercier. This meeting would give the future club a Secretary General and a breeder under the affix "de la Bénigousse".

With the support of everyone and the help of the Société Centrale Canine (the French Kennel Club), a new constitutive meeting took place in Fréjus in 1981, along with a field trial (Fréjus field trial, 1981).
Michel Comte went to the town hall of Draguignan that year to register the statutes of the new club.
In 1982, the first bulletin was published, bearing the number 15 to maintain continuity with the club of the 1930s, whose last bulletin had been number 14.
Thanks to the dedication of the many volunteers who ran the club, the quality of the bulletin improved from number 16 onwards, and it became biannual.
After the 1982 edition (Charroux field trial), the 1983 edition gathered 30 dogs from 23 owners.
